Abstract:
The article gives an overview of the five years of existence of the journal “Population Processes” (2016–2021). We want to be modest way, but proudly, let us mark jubilee fifth year continuous service to science and people. With we are pleased to point out that we are in that succeeded, thanks to above all to you – ours loyal readers and authors. A large contribution development of the journal definitely belongs of the director of “Academic Publishing House Researcher” − Doctor of History, Professor Aleksandr Cherkasov. As Dekić (2009) states, “How I choose the magazine in which I publish – personal view”: “Scientific publication is the most important way which communicates science, and the scientific journal is the most important place where new ones are published, original results of some research. Based on this, the science of one country, region, institution is evaluated”. From 31 March 2016 to 30 September 2020 – 27 articles by 36 authors were published in the journal. We remind the authors of the articles and all our readers to continue to be active participants in all activities of our journal. Jubilee – 5 years, the status of the journal, praise and encouragement from many scientists, all this is what "Academic Publishing House Researcher" motivates and obliges to further quality work. In order to make the journal "Population Processes" even better, more up-to-date, more original and more professional.

The Influence of Infectious Diseases on the Demography of the Population of the Foothill Kuban (on the Example of the Cholera Epidemic of 1910)

Abstract:
The article, prepared on the basis of the analysis of the statistical material of the metrical books of the Orthodox churches of the villages and villages of the modern Mostovsky district of the Krasnodar Territory, examines the cholera epidemic that swept the foothill territories of the Kuban region in 1910. The authors characterize the main factors that contributed to the rapid spread of infection, and assess the measures that were taken to combat the disease: the implementation of anti-cholera measures organized by the authorities was greatly hindered by the lack of education, prejudices and superstitions of the overwhelming majority of villagers; Representatives of Cossacks and nonresidents not only did not observe basic standards of personal hygiene, but also expressed distrust, and sometimes hostility, towards doctors; the traditional cattle trade fairs held in the Maikop department had a considerable impact on the spread of cholera. For the first time in historiography, the chronological framework of the cholera epidemic in the Upper Laba basin (June – September 1910) is substantiated, quantitative parameters of demographic losses of residents of the subregion are determined: at least 569 people died during the epidemic. By comparing data from metric books and official bulletins on the movement of cholera, which were regularly published in the Kuban Regional Gazette, the authors of the study substantiate the conclusion that official statistics underestimate the number of deaths from the disease. In general, among the causes of death of people in the foothill territories of the Kuban region in the pre-revolutionary period, infectious diseases were in the first place. They had a negative, sometimes detrimental, impact on the natural population growth of the villages and villages of this subregion.

Right to Privacy of Transgender Persons (Reproductive Rights Aspect)

Abstract:
LGBTQ + rights now protected and recognized as human rights, as by national legislation and international human rights instruments and other consensus instruments. However, the group of people that has been trying the longest to fight against oppression in their private life – are transgender people. Because of their «unresolved sex» in many parts of the world, they are banned from almost anything under private law, from adoption and childbirth and marriage to forcing gender reassignment through surgery, employment, or any kind of paperwork. Today, there are many organizations whose activities are protecting or include protection and interpretation of the rights of transgender people, such as the Harry Benjamin International Association for Gender Dysphoria, the United Nations and others. Among the main acts in this area are the International Conferences on Transgender Law and Employment Policy, the International Bill of Gender Rights, and others. The rights of LGBTQ + individuals must, in one way or another, be enshrined for each member of the community in all constitutions of the world. However, despite the efforts of activists, the right to privacy of transgender people is quite often violated. In this paper, we propose to pay attention to the rights of transgender people in private life. The problems that arise in implementing reproductive rights of LGBTQ + people are also analyzed in the paper.
